Wabbitseason

No time in your life for fun... or magic...

11/18/08 12:45 pm - Putter, putter

So I have more icons on IJ than I remember. I must add more. Which ones do people associate with wabbitseason these days?

Thanks to Write or Die, I wrote more of the Gossip Girl rip-off for my Mini Nano goals, although I think it wants to go into De La Cruz's Blue Blood direction instead. I need to spend less time in the YA/teen book section. Where were all these fantasy/supernatural stories when I was growing up? *sighs*

Is the coast clear? They'll never see us sneaking in the back entrance...

Oh hi. Yes, LJ is categorically down. As is twitter. *mourns new toy*

Fortunately we still have Insanejournal. It's not Paris or the Pegasus Galaxy or even Gotham City but it'll do.

I guess I should actually work on writing. Just because LJ is dead doesn't mean Mini Nano can wait. Someone to explain to me how I wound up writing a trashy psuedo-Gossip Girl story for one of the prompts? I don't even read the books or watch the series.

I'd ask for prompts but I haven't been terribly prompt writing the ones I've gotten before.

All I did was archive one fic and LJ went poof! *looks hurt* I'm really beginning to think that Multiverse story is cursed.

Please come back. I promise never to do whatever I did again?

And a Da Vinci Inquest icon... Happy Canada Day! *evil American grin*

9/11/07 12:09 pm - Had to happen

I can't resist a good fanfic challenge. Or even an intriguing one. Or just a cracky "That's sounds like fun" type one. So I've signed up for my first IJ based one. It takes me back to my youth: [info]ficrocksthe80s

Signups are up now and until the 17th. You'll get an 80s song in return and write 1000 words of fic. That simple.

I'm officially scared to death what I might get. Knowing my luck, it'll be something I tried my hardest to avoid when I was younger. (As if on cue, my coworker's Net radio is playing "Careless Whisper". We actually learned that in high school choir. *shakes head*)

Where are my JEM icons when I need them?

9/6/07 10:37 am - Kevin Conroy & the soaps

AOL Video has a Proctor & Gamble Classic Soap Opera channel, along with a ton of other old & new television shows and cartoons. Their system doesn't work on Macs unfortunately. Among these are "Another World" and "Search for Tomorrow". Now before half my friends list flees in abject terror, there is a point to all this. I had read somewhere that Kevin Conroy appeared on both these programs. In fact, the PGS soap blog touted that fact in an old post -- Double your Conroy, double your fun. Being the morbidly curious geek that I am and having cable internet and not afraid to use it, I went digging. It was educational... or something.

Before he was Batman, he was a soap star... )

Ironically you can also see the more well-known part of his career on the In2TV channel. They're showing selected episodes of the "Batman: the Animated Series". Also the Superman animated one as well, although no "World's Finest" yet. The "New Adventures of Batman" appears to be the Adam West cartoon.

8/22/07 12:03 pm - Embracing my inner Bat

I have Bat issues. Not quite a full subscription, but enough to give me pause. I've grown more aware of them lately as I've become more acquainted with the Bat canon I've missed. They're tied in closely with issues I have with "modern" comic books.
